Tottenham Hotspur travels to Merseyside for a match against Everton Friday in the first of the team’s final seven games in the Premier League season. Mathematically Tottenham still has a chance at finishing in the top four of the table.

Realistically, if Tottenham wins all seven games and takes 21 points, anything can happen but that seems unlikely. Regardless, to get to the end, it starts with game one, which is a repeat of the season opener as Tottenham finally has a chance to get one back against Everton. Here is the team that will do it for the Spurs on Friday.

Two upfront from Tottenham

Hopefully, it is becoming clear to José Mourinho and the Tottenham coaching staff that the Spurs need to be playing with two strikers. For everything Harry Kane does, he can neither be in two places at once and he will never be a burner.

Tottenham needs to stretch the field and having a second striker does that. With the tendency to go with inverted wingers, the wings tend to drift in instead of out, further limiting how much Tottenham stretches the defense. Looking at the last two matches of football from the club – Newcastle and Manchester United – the best half of football was the first half against Newcastle with two strikers on the field.

In a more traditional 4-4-2, line-up here is the XI we want to see to beat Everton.
