Why we want to see Heung-Min Son on the Tottenham right wing
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham Hotspur is at the point in the season where the team needs to take some chances and make some changes. After a familiar listless second half against Manchester United, the team’s goals for the season are on life support. With essentially nothing to lose and a lot to gain, we at HotspurHQ see moving Tottenham superstar Heung-Min Son from the left to the right-wing as an experiment worth taking.
Heung-Min Son, Started great but
There is no doubting the flying start Heung-Min Son got off to for Tottenham, which had a major impact on the Spurs’ early team success. Sone had 11 goals and 4 assists in the first 13 matches of the season for Tottenham as the Lilywhites were in first place for the first time in forever.
Since Tottenham lost to Liverpool something has gone missing for the South Korean as Son went from 15 goal contributions in just 13 matches to 8 in the last 17 – Sonny missed the Villa game with an injury. For those into stats, Son went from 1.15 g+a per appearance in the league to .47 g+a per match, a nearly 60% drop in production. Safe to say Tottenham miss that production.
Given we know it is not a matter of desire or talent with Sonny, maybe he just needs a little change, and moving him from the left to the right may be a good idea for Tottenham. Here are three reasons beyond a fresh start for Son to move him from the left to the right side of the field.
