Tottenham did see several changes  in the line-up that will be facing Wolfsberger in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 32 tie. The two most notable changes are at the front and back of the team as Joe Hart starts in goal and Carlos Vinicius starts up front for Spurs.

Hart Makes Tottenham Start

We called  for Joe Hart last week in the first leg of the Europa League contest against Wolfsberger and instead got Hugo Lloris. While Lloris made some big saves, another silly penalty cost him his shutout. With the tie comfortably in hand José Mourinho has elected to start Joe Hart in the goal.

Some fans have been calling for Joe Hart given some of the mistakes and lack of confidence being displayed by Hugo the last several matches. However, Mourinho had indicated that Hart had played a lot of matches already – more than the last two seasons at Burnley combined – and we may not see him again.

Ultimately, this is the right decision on a couple of fronts. One Hart does a great job commanding his box and being a vocal presence all over the field. These are two things Lloris needs to work on. Second Hart is not the keeper Lloris is.

As many mistakes as we have seen Lloris make, well Hart will make them too and sometimes it is good to get a reminder that no one is perfect and sometimes the grass isn’t greener. Plus Hugo seeing someone commanding the box will be good for him and the team.

Carlos Vinicius Goes for Tottenham

The other big news in the XI is Carlos Vinicius starting again. With BOTH Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son on the bench, not to mention Dane Scarlett; it is hard to say how long the leash is for Vinicius. We hope Carlos is good early, scores a couple goals and then makes way for Scarlett. While not the likeliest of scenarios, it is the one we want to see.
