Tottenham Forwards

Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son started together as the front two in a 4-4-2. Both players worked extremely hard on both sides of the ball to get shots and create chances. Spurs did not create enough chances in the end, but it was not from a lack of effort. Both men worked to cut passing angles and help against the all-out Liverpool attack.

Heung-Min Son – 8

Son Heung-Min scored the only goal for Tottenham only minutes after Spurs had conceded on the other end to Liverpool. Son timed his run to perfection as VAR showed him just onside before Lo Celso played the ball. Once in on goal there was little doubt that Sonny was to beat Alisson. Probably should have had an assist to Steven Bergwijn, but it was not meant to be. Played hard until subbed in the last 10 minutes for Dele Alli.

Harry Kane – 7

Harry Kane worked to find little pockets of space to try and receive the ball and create Tottenham possession. There was just enough possession in the first half to keep Spurs in the game and then more then enough in the second half to take it. Unfortunately, Harry Kane was not his normal clinical self with a free header in the box, as it is not often you see our talisman bounce one over the goal like that. Kane did almost beat Alisson on a cheeky lob effort following a nice interception in the attacking half. All we will likely remember was the miss mostly because Kane does not do it often.
