U21 Depth, No Surprises in Tottenham Premier League Squad
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham Under-21, Contract, and Scholar Players
Tottenham made full use of the Under-21, Contract, and Scholar player option including some 58 total players in the list. Key players in the list include Jack Clarke, Japhet Tanganga, and Gedson Fernandes. While none of the three are stars, both Tanganga and Fernandes are legitimate squad players and Jack Clarke has a real chance to play some this season given the fixture congestion ahead.
Beside the known entities of the three senior players Tottenham also smartly included most of their recent group of players on loan on the list as well. Names like Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott, and Ryan Sessegnon are included in the list. Since Skipp and Parrott are both in the Championship and Sessegnon is in Germany all are technically eligible for the Premier League this season and exist on the list like this for those in case of emergency break glass moments.
Do not panic, Sessegnon is not coming back because Real Madrid cannot take Sergio Reguilón in the middle of the season, but in reality Reguilón or Davies or both could be injured and miss time and having Sessegnon available in that instance is important. Of course, the hope is that all the loanees have solid seasons away from the club, you never know what might happen.
Ultimately, with the smart use of the Under-21 structure, combined with the acquisition of more Home-Grown Players, and smart loans outside the Premier League; Tottenham Hotspur have constructed the best team they could for the season at hand.
Here is the complete list of Premier League players for Tottenham and all of the 20 teams in the league.
