Given Tottenham have one senior squad member Oliver Skipp, and a couple U-23s out on loan, it is time to check in on Spurs’ loanees in preseason.

Oliver Skipp is a name familiar to Tottenham Hotspur faithful as he has made the occasional appearance in the first team over the last couple of years.

Likewise, Troy Parrott and TJ Eyoma are names many fans should recognize and all three are currently on loan.

So how are their loans working thus far?

Oliver Skipp

Now 20 years old, Skipp needs first team minutes and the hope is that he will get them at Norwich, who are looking to bounce back to the Premier League after being relegated to the Championship this past season. Over the last week, Skipp has logged some 180 minutes of action across three different matches with the Canaries.

Skipp played the first 45 minutes in a 3-0 victory over SC Verl last Monday. Norwich were up 2-0 at the time, although Skipp was not involved in either goal. Just two days later, Skipp again started and played the first half in a win. Norwich was up 1-0 at the break and notably Skipp was booked for the first time as a Norwich player. Skipp was even the highlighted speaker for the club on the website after the match, which Norwich won 2-0.

Skipp, then got a full 90 minutes as part of a split-squad pair of matches versus SV Darmstadt on Saturday, Aug. 29. For those wondering, some of his minutes have included the links of Max Aarons, Timu Pukki, and Todd Cantwell, but other minutes have not. Thus, it is not clear if Skipp will start or not for the Canaries, but he is getting minutes, which was what the loan was all about.

Tottenham U-23 loanees

Troy Parrott got his Millwall FC career off to a hot start. Parrott was one of three players to score in the 3-0 victory at Southend United. Parrott started and played 75 minutes in the match before being replaced. He scored the third of the three goals, with a nice diagonal run and a clam dink finish as shared by Millwall’s Twitter feed.

Fellow U-23 player TJ Eyoma is out on loan at Lincoln City. While the Red Imps played two matches over the last week, Eyoma was only involved in one of the two. Eyoma, started and scored while playing 45 minutes in the Imp’s 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United. Eyoma did not appear in the 2-1 loss to Oldham Athletic.

While Skipp, Parrott, and Eyoma are currently the only Spurs out on loan, we should anticipate a few more folks going out over the next couple weeks as the final squad is determined, and the transfer window ends. I for one hope that the loan decisions for Skipp and Parrott continue to work out and the lads shine in their new digs.
