Today’s Latest Tottenham Transfer News
By Logan Holmes
An update from the media on today’s latest Tottenham transfer news on players linked with a move to or from White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Transfer News
Morgan Schneiderlin
The Tottenham transfer news starts with a tweet by Gary Jacob, a journalist with The Times. He tweeted that Southampton have not received any bids for the France international midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin.
Tottenham have been linked with Schneiderlin for the past week, since France returned from the World Cup in Brazil.
Jack Rodwell
The Daily Express have reported Tottenham interest in Manchester City midfield player, Jack Rodwell. He is also attracting the attention of Everton and Newcastle United. Rodwell joined City from Everton in 2012 but has made only 16 appearances in the Premier League since his move to the Etihad Stadium. Having been selected for the England team in 2011, his career has stalled and the 23-year-old needs a new start.
Divock Origi
Spurs continue to be linked with the young Belgium striker along with Liverpool and Dortmund. Origi is thought to be considering what would be the best move for his career.
Ben Davies/Kyle Naughton
The Times are suggesting that Swansea are wanting Kyle Naughton as part of any deal involving Ben Davies. The Swansea Chairman, Huw Jenkins, said during the week that discussions had taken place but it had gone quiet in the past days. WalesOnline’s reporter, ChrisWathan thinks that Spurs are still in pole position to sign Davies.

The London Evening Standard are reporting that Tottenham will not sell Jan Vertonghen this summer even though the player’s agent is talking of interest from a number of clubs. Following Vertonghen’s impressive displays at the World Cup Barcelona are thought to be preparing a bid. His agent said, as reported on Twitter by @HotspurRelated,
"Several teams are interested in Jan. I cannot confirm or deny whether Barcelona are one of them."
Wilfried Bony
The Standard also reports that Tottenham intend to rival Liverpool in the race to sign Wilfried Bony and are ready to offer £18m.
The Swansea Chairman has been critical of Liverpool who have spoken to Bony without permission from the Welsh club. Jenkins’ comments are reported in the Daily Mail,
"I was very surprised to hear and disappointed to hear that Liverpool had gone down that route and were talking to the player behind my club’s back….No approach has been made to me or my club."
The article speaks of Bony’s desire to leave Swansea. There are reports of a £19m release clause in his contract but Bony is wanting to remain in the Premier League at a club who can offer Champions League next season and is favouring Liverpool.

TalkSport are reporting that Loic Remy is in discussions with both Spurs and Arsenal over a possible move from QPR for a fee of £8m. Newcastle were hoping to retain the services of Remy who had a successful season on loan in the north-eas. Remy, however, is thought to have narrowed his decision down to the two north London rivals.
The media have been linking Tottenham with these players over the past number of weeks. The only new one to appear in this update of the Tottenham transfer news is Spurs interest in Jack Rodwell. For Tottenham to make any signings they will need to sell a number of players due to the sheer size of their senior squad. They will again have to overcome the problem of no Champions League football.
