Today's report coming out of North London is that academy graduate Will Lankshear looks set for a loan move away from the club, with sides in the EFL Championship sniffing around for his signature until the end of the season.

Lankshear made his debut for Spurs earlier on in the season when they were victorious in Hungary when they beat Ferencvaros, before, bizarrely in his second game where he scored and then was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 3-2 defeat to Turkish outfit Galatasaray. However he was an unused substitute in last night's win over IF Elfsborg when all three of his age mates got on the score sheet.

Lankshear wouldn't be the only youngster to go out on loan to the Championship in this January transfer window, with South-Korean winger Yan Min-Hyeok secured a move to nearby club Queens Park Rangers, with manager Ange Postecoglou adamant that he is not ready to consistently contribute at first team level in the Premier League.

Now the same could be happening for Lankshear, at 19-years-old he'll be looking to get consistent first team minutes, which is hard enough to come by at a club like Tottenham Hotspur, but could prove to be even harder, with the club on the hunt for a forward to accommodate for the injured Dominic Solanke. One name the Lilywhite's have on their radar is France under twenty one international Mathys Tel, who seems keen to leave German record champions Bayern Munich. Sky Germany reported this morning that Spurs have reached a verbal agreement with the Bavarians for £50 million, however the player has now turned down the offer.

Some of the clubs that are potentially looking to bring in Lankshear are Burnley, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City and Luton Town, as well as some sides across the English channel. However, Spurs would prefer him to stay in England and play in the Championship, as they believe this is his best chance of game time.

Luton Town would make the most sense out of these clubs I would imagine, as they are the closest team to Tottenham geographically, being only an hour away up the M1, so wouldn't have to move far away from home. The Hatters also are near the foot of the table, scoring only 29 goals and would need someone to come in straight away and make a difference, as opposed to the likes of Burnley and Middlesbrough, who are doing well and might not want to change much of their starting eleven's.

A move slightly down the pyramid could prove to be crucial for the youngster, he'll want to get as much first team experience as he can and feel the pressure of actually playing for results rather than just his personal development, as well as being able to see what the demands of senior football are about and improving his physical side of the game.
