Who have been Spurs' five best players so far this season?
By Tom Vinall
4) James Maddison
James Maddison has looked really good for Spurs so far this season, in a slightly different role where he is playing as a number eight. He has enjoyed this extra responsibility in build-up, getting on the ball in deeper areas and orchestrating attacks.
There have been some comments about how Spurs would go onto win 4-1 after he was taken off at half-time against West Ham, but he still managed to create five chances in the first half – more than any other Premier League player did this past weekend.
The 27-year old has been consistent with his performances, particularly over the last five weeks. His currently idle international week is giving him plenty of rest amidst a very intense schedule. Maddison currently has two goals and three assists in eight Premier League games.
