Game management

Honestly, absolutely amateur stuff. The loose header from Porro to Forster that nearly cost them was after 87 minutes. The equaliser was after 91 minutes. In that time, Spurs were completely penned in. Whilst game state meant that Roma were going to go for it, they were leaving so much space. The reality is that a team on the top of their game would have exploited that.

Even for it to be a corner, Werner deliberately leaves the ball, thinking it is going out for a goal kick. Genuinely Sunday league stuff. The lack of communication is ridiculous. Of course, part of game management is getting that third goal, and goes under finishing like mentioned in the previous slide, but defensively you have to be switched on.

As poor as he was all night, someone like Mats Hummels is extremely experienced, and it told in the end. The defender had a nightmare evening, yet had the last laugh. To concede two goals to centre halves is incredibly frustrating, and should be seen as avoidable.
