Under Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange, Tottenham Hotspur have been disturbingly poor in terms of their big decisions on the transfer market, and their winter transfer window was the epitome of these issues. While Souza is a great scout and a credit to Lange's eye for young talent, such as Lucas Bergvall before that, the fact that their only veteran addition to the squad was the woeful - and woefully overpaid, on two counts - Conor Gallagher is a testament to their inability to get the big calls right. And let's not even get into the coaching issues with Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor.

Well, based on the players Tottenham are already being linked to for the summer 2026 transfer window, Spurs supporters should have serious concerns about what is ahead. According to a report from German outlet Sport Bild's Michael Schroer, Sebastian Kolsberger, and Jorg Weiler, Tottneham are eyeing Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy.

Tottenham are so intersted in Guirassy that they have reportedly scouted his last five matches. Fans will wonder, though, how closely Vinai and Lange were watching him against them, beacuse he was dreadful and totally ghosted in Tottenham's comfortable Champions League victory over Die Schwarzgelben.

Tottenham want Serhou Guirassy

While Guirassy used to be regarded as the second best striker in the Bundesliga after Harry Kane and carried Stuttgart out of the relegation battle before carrying them to the Champions League as an incredbile talent, he has really fallen off. He started his career brightly at Dortmund and was fine to start the 2025/26 season, but, lately, he has been a disaster and a liability.

Guirassy is now 30 years old, so he has no future upside or resale value. He could be a huge gamble with limited reward, especially since his wages and transfer fee will both be expensive as an established striker for a big lub like Dortmund.

The man is already on the decline, and whereas he was underrated at Stuttgart, he has become overrated at Dortmund. His ego, selfishness, lack of intensity, declining creative output because of his shot hogging, and poor attitude as a ball hog who will not involve others have all begun to frustrate Dortmund, making him expendable. Plus, he is under contract for two more years, so Dortmund do not have to give discounts yet.

Dortmund are fine with getting rid of him, as Guirassy has just 12 goals and 1 assist despite having the entire offense built around him. Tottenham already have enough egos in their squad, so consider him a buyer beware. And be very wary.
