Tottenham are scrambling around in the final days of the window to land Thomas Frank a new No. 10, and the club could pivot to a bitter rival for salvation.
Our transfer embargo with West Ham ended earlier this summer, when the Hammers were willing to offload Mohammed Kudus for £55m off the back of an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign.
The Ghanaian, who enjoyed a full pre-season under Frank, has been a hit at the start of his very young Spurs career. Kudus recorded two assists for Richarlison on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and showed off his ability to retain possession under pressure in the impressive performances against Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
We can only thank the dire east Londoners for their generosity, and recent reports suggest we may be trying our luck with another West Ham star.

There's no overlooking the sense of desperation within Lilywhite quarters. This has been an incredibly frustrating window for the club, one that could've been special.
We've seen Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze slip through our fingers, while our proposed deal for Nico Paz was a non-starter. With James Maddison rupturing his ACL and Dejan Kulusevski potentially out until 2026, Frank currently has a notable profile void in his engine room. Pape Matar Sarr has so far filled in expertly, but his skill set won't be suited to certain fixtures.
The club are seemingly testing out a variety of waters, with Fabrizio Romano (via Tottenham Tiers on X) reporting that enquries have been made to West Ham regarding Lucas Paqueta's availability.
Like Kudus, Paqueta endured a down 2024/25 after shining in his debut season, and it seems like the Hammers would be willing to move on for the right price—that magic £60m figure. Our east London rivals have endured a woeful start to the new season, and cashing in on Paqueta could further aid Graham Potter's rebuild.
A second West Ham purchase would be incredibly funny after 14 years of inactivity. Paqueta, for me, is a great option, and is another example of purchasing a player while his stock is relatively low. He wants to be elsewhere. The Brazilian combined wonderfully with Kudus two seasons ago and is the pass-first playmaker we require to balance out our attack.
Moreover, Paqueta is a tireless worker out of possession and throwback pictures have surfaced of the 28-year-old wearing a Spurs home shirt from 2014/15—Harry Kane's breakout year. Fully COYS?
