When he is on his game and not burned out or jaded, Tottenham Hotspur right back Pedro Porro is one of the best in the business. He is so good that before he joined Spurs, he was the biggest gem in his position in European football, wanted by clubs as big as Real Madird. But Spurs got their hands on a prolific two way right back who can progress the ball, defend like heck, and create plenty of chances.

Finally, Tottenham got to see Porro back at his best these last few weeks of the Premier League relegation fight, as he was one of several key players reborn by new manager Roberto De Zerbi. Porro showed his true level on both ends of the pitch, with his incredible display on Matchday 38 against Everton playing a key role in confirming the Lilywhites safety in the English top flight.

Bound for the World Cup, Porro's links to Real Madrid have not fully died, but there is another elite club that is a more worrisome and even more realistic landing spot for the Spanish international - and it is a club that has also scouted him out for years.

Tottenham can't lose him to Man City

According to a report from Spurs insider Paul O Keefe, Manchester City do indeed have real interest in Pedro Porro, even with Pep Guardiola set to leave Manchester City this summer. Because of Pep's departure, most of the stories around the Citizens right now are about players who could leave the Etihad, including two prime Spurs transfer targets in center midfielder Nico Gonzalez and stud winger Savinho, who was the Lilywhites top target at the position in August last year.

But Man City will have to buy for new manager Enzo Maresca, and while more people are leaving City than just Guardiola, plenty of others will be staying, including people who admire Porro just as much as the former Barcelona manager did.

Porro is a world class right back on paper, and at 26 years old, he is only just about to hit his very prime years. Tottenham Hotspur need to do whatever they can to keep him, because the most powerful club in English football showing significant interest in Porro is a huge threat to them. Tottenham do not have anyone who can replace him at right back, and there is a strong case to be made that alongside Mohammed Kudus, Porro is the player Spurs rely on the most.
