It seemed like Tottenham Hotspur's transfer window business was done with after the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani, but even as the focus turns to selling players like Manor Solomon and potentially even midfielder Yves Bissouma, Spurs are still interested in making a couple of new additions at the last minute in light of their awful display against Bournemouth.

According to a report from BBC Sport's Sami Mokbel, Tottenham would still like to sign one more attacking player today and remain intersted in a center back. Right now, the main defender linked to Spurs is Manchester City star Manuel Akanji.

It's unclear if Mokbel's report is accounting for the fact that Spurs have indeed just made a deadline day signing up front, acquiring PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani on loan. However, perhaps this report from Football.London beat writer Alasdair Gold clears the air, as he says that Tottenham are still looking for opportunities to sign a winger on the summer 2025 transfer market.

That's partially because Tottenham do need a winger and have been going after dream target Savinho from Manchester City for weeks. And it's also because Tottenham are selling Bryan Gil (finally) to Girona and are trying very hard to find a transfer solution for Manor Solomon, who would end up having to stay as rather unideal depth on the wings if a transfer partner cannot be found.

Tottenham need help on the wings

Obviously, Tottenham are hurting on the wings, specifically the left, since Son Heung-min left to MLS. Mathys Tel isn't ready to be a main starter yet, and the other options are all better off on the right-hand side like Mohammed Kudus and Brennan Johnson.

You could argue that Savinho is in the same boat as a left-footer, but he can fare better as a traditional winger on the left and was excellent in that position as a breakout star in La Liga for Girona. But Manchester City seem less interested than ever in selling Savinho and are coming off two terrible results, both to Spurs and another loss this past weekend to Brighton.

Tottenham fans will want a better option on the left wing than Solomon or even Kolo Muani, who may have to be used in that role if Spurs can't get more out of youngsters Tel and Wilson Odobert to start the 2025/26 Premier League season.

As for the center back position, Akanji is the only named concretely linked to Spurs, but there should be other intriguing options around the transfer market, including Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba, though his availability could be complicated by Erik ten Hag's abrupt dismissal.
