Tottenham Hotspur are weighing the futures of Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, and while Spurs fans are far from convinced with either option, Roberto De Zerbi seems to have an affinity for both. And most disconcertingly for Spurs fans who prefer Richy's work rate and the fact that he actually led the team in Premier League goals with 11 last season, De Zerbi appears to favor Solanke as the starting striker, too.
Now, Spurs supporters are far less convinced with the former 65 million pound record breaking signing from Bournemouth, as Solanke struggles to stay fit on the pitch and has come nowhere near the fluky 19 goals he scored in the 2023/24 Premier League season while leading the line for the Cherries.
Tottenham fans want to see an even bigger splash, and though his injury pretty much precludes a summer transfer this year, the ultimate dream target at the No. 9 for the fans right now is Eli Junior Kroupi.
Eli Junior Kroupi is the truth
The U21 Bournemouth striker did not score as many goals for Bournemouth as Dominic Solanke did last season, but he was also just a teenager and scored 13 goals in a lot less action than Solanke did in 2023/24. In fact, Kroupi scoring 13 goals as a teenager puts him in a class of Premier League legends like Ryan Giggs, Romelu Lukaku, and Wayne Rooney. All the players who reached 13 goals as a teenager in this league eventually became world class, whether they were wingers or strikers.
Eli Junior Kroupi has PSG, Barcelona, an the biggest clubs in the world after him. Tottenham Hotspur 100 percent need to be involved, and they have never, ever signed a forward of this level when clubs this big were interested. The last time they showed interest in that kind of a player, Desire Doue went to PSG without any real fight from Spurs, with Daniel Levy giving up just as the chase was really beginning.
Tottenham can't afford to do wthat with Junior Kroupi. He was the most efficient scorer and accurate shooter in the Premier League once he took the reigns of the No. 9 at Bournemouth from Evanilson, and Spurs need to show the ambition to go after a slam dunk striker prospect like this one. Kroupi is the clear No. 1 target for Spurs in the long term, and if there is any prayer at prying him away from Bournemouth, the Lilywhites must be there.
