Tottenham player breaks social media silence, Brighton loss was “unacceptable”
By Kian Long
The Tottenham Hotspur players have been awfully quiet on social media. However, one player has spoken out on the "unacceptable" Brighton loss.
Tottenham Hotspur had the perfect opportunity to head into the October international break with high morale. They were finally in the match-winning groove, but this was halted at the weekend.
On Sunday evening, Tottenham went two goals up inside the opening half against Brighton and Hove Albion. However, their heads fell and in the second half, they conceded three back-to-back, meaning they ended their five-game win streak.
Speaking after the match, one Tottenham player has been very vocal about the way he feels the match went. Perhaps his Tottenham teammates could learn a thing or two from his mentality.

As per Football London, James Maddison was one of the only Tottenham players to post to their social media accounts about Tottenham losing to Brighton. His teammates were up for posting about the international break, though.
James Maddison posted to his Instagram story after the second-half shambles against Brighton. In his own words, James Maddison said: "Yesterday's second half was unacceptable. We take full responsibility and criticism and will use it as fuel to move forward."
This is all Tottenham fans will ask for. They know that players cannot turn back time but they can (and must) learn from the past to build for the future.
The problem which Tottenham had at the weekend was complacency. They went two goals up and were not on the hunt for more. If the game finished 2-0, then taking their feet off the pedal would have been excused. But now, the second half looks ugly as it cost Tottenham not two, but three points.
Before the match, Tottenham were ahead of Brighton in the Premier League standings. However, the comeback from the Seagulls meant they climbed the table, at Tottenham's expense.
It doesn't help Spurs' case that teams around them picked up points. Now, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are both level on points with Ange Postecoglou's side.
Tottenham's next opponent after the international break is West Ham. The Hammers have had a poor start to the season but thanks to their convincing win against Ipswich Town at the weekend, they are just two points behind Tottenham heading into the international break.
Tottenham fans can only hope that Maddison's message rings true. The players need to learn from their wrongdoings last weekend.
