Time is running out on the Tottenham Hotspur summer transfer window, and the Lilywhites are going to have to get serious about signing the best attacking players they can before August ends. They probably won't have time to make upgrades before Matchday 1 of the 2026/27 Premier League season on Saturday against tricky local rivals Brentford, but they have plenty of time to make superstar additions for the full run of the season.

Tottenham did well to give Roberto De Zerbi the spine he needs with the quartet of Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Mateus Fernandes at center back and defensive midfield, and based on the preseason, veteran left back Andrew Robertson looks like he could be a lot more useful than skeptics thought after watching him struggle at Liverpool last season.

But Spurs need the new forwards, as only Richarlison scored in the double digits in the Premier League last season. Talks for Manchester City star Savinho and Liverpool left winger Cody Gakpo have been frustratingly slow to develop, but, all of a sudden, the Lilywhites have a real breakthrough on their hands.

Tottenham can solve a huge problem with one deal

According to the Daily Telegraph's Matt Law, Tottenham Hotspur are actually working on a double swoop of two Manchester City star forwards they really need. Spurs have been after Savinho for a year now, but Roberto De Zerbi has also been very high on Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, whom Spurs were interested in during the winter. Savinho got injured and Marmoush rejected a move away from Manchester, but they are back on the table now.

Better yet, Law reports that the package deal of Marmoush and Savinho is going to be pretty reasonable. For 140 million pounds, less than what Spurs spent on midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes from Newcastle United and West Ham United, the Lilywhites can grab both wingers.

Marmoush is a goal scoring left winger who can be the center forward to threaten 20 goals in a season that Tottenham need, while Savinho is a tricky left footed winger who can invert from the right or playmake out wide from the left side of the attack.

Tottenham signing both players, along with Roberto De Zerbi's personal favorite pick of Cody Gakpo from Anfield, would be a massive coup. And at 140 million pounds, that's a better deal than just Savinho for 85 million pounds, which was the rumor over the past week, and it's a discount an attacking needy Spurs can't pass up on.
