For months, since Tottenham Hotspur parted ways with former CEO Daniel Levy, the club has been selling to the fans major investments, including an immediate splash in the January transfer window. Tottenham fans are now expecting a 100 million pound cash windfall and the signing of one more marquee attacker to join Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, who are already paying dividends for the Spurs side.

Tottenham, though, have been dreadful for the majority of the 2025/26 campaign under Thomas Frank. There are more problems than just one position, but the gaping hole vacated by Son Heung-min on the left wing remains palpable and an issue that Tottenham fans are bringing up over and over again.

This January transfer window, Tottenham and the other interested Big Six clubs have the unique opportunity to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, as he has a 65 million pound release clause available, making him a tad bit cheaper than what Spurs were quoted to sign him this past summer transfer window.

Antoine Semenyo is a breakout superstar

Semenyo was a great breakout right winger for Bournemouth last season, but he has been even more effective for the exciting underdog Cherries attack in 2025/26 now that he has pivoted to the left wing. Only Erling Haaland has been a better attacker in the Premier League this season.

According to the latest report from Sky Sports News editor Lyall Thomas, Tottenham Hotspur, unfortunately, remain behind the eight ball for the Premier League star who is entering his prime. Manchester City and Manchester United are pushing very hard for Antoine Semenyo right now, and Sky Sports say that Man City are now seen as the favorites to snag the Ghanaian superstar.

Tottenham are very much in the mix for Semenyo and mentioned as among the leading candidates by Sky Sports, with Man City and Man United now apparently bigger threats to sign Semenyo than Arsenal and Liverpool, who were previously viewed as possible favorites.

Now, Man City are launching ahead. If they were to sign Semenyo, that would be a potentially title changing maneuver in the Premier League with additional ramifications for Tottenham. Although Spurs would hate to, like with Rayan Cherki, lose out on another great young forward to the Citizens, Semenyo could help take another title away from Arsenal's grasps. And it could make summer transfer target Savinho available to Spurs, though the Brazilian's poor Premier League performances this season have made him a much less appealing left wing candidate for Spurs anyway.
