Ahead of the weekend, as always, there is plenty of action for Tottenham Hotspur loanees, across plenty of different competitions, and three different countries. Let’s see how the next few days are shaping up for them.
How the schedule looks for the Spurs loanees this weekend
To begin, in the Championship, there are games for Dane Scarlett’s Oxford United, as well as Ashley Phillips and his Stoke City side. For Scarlett, it is a home game against Sheffield Wednesday, whilst Phillips, who could be recalled in January, will showdown at home to Cardiff City. Both games are on Saturday, with 15:00 GMT kick offs.
In League One, Josh Keeley, Jamie Donley, and Leyton Orient will hope to continue their good form, when they host Burton Albion. In his last three games, Keeley has kept two clean sheets, provided an assist, and scored a goal. Lately, we have seen Donley come back into the team, and he started again in the Bristol St Motors trophy in midweek. This game is on Saturday, with a 12:30 GMT kick off, available on Sky Sports plus.
Elsewhere, Matthew Craig’s Barnsley side are in action on the road to Exeter on Saturday. Due to a lack of game time, Spurs are also reportedly considering recalling Craig in January, and sending him out to another EFL club on loan to continue his development. Kick off here is 15:00 GMT.
Down in League Two, George Abbott and his Notts County team are in action for the first time in 11 days, as they face Salford on Saturday. Stuart Maynard’s side had several players out of their last game, including Abbott, through injury – so hopefully this break has given a chance for at least some of those players to come back. Another 12:30 GMT kick off here. Available on Sky Sports plus.
Onto the continent – Alejo Veliz and his RCD Espanyol side will host Osasuna in La Liga on Saturday, with a 13:00 GMT kick off. Bryan Gil and Girona are also in action on Saturday, as they face Mallorca on the road, with a 15:15 GMT kick off.
Finally, there is Belgian Pro League action for Luka Vuskovic, Alfie Devine, and KVC Westerlo, as they take on Tony Bloom’s Union Saint-Gilloise on the road. Let’s hope there isn’t the same capitulation as Spurs had against a club owned by Bloom. This game is on Sunday, with a 15:00 GMT kick off.
