Due to the international break, most Spurs loanees did not have a club game this weekend. That is apart from George Abbott, whose Notts County side were in action away to Chesterfield in the early kick off in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

For this game, Notts manager Stuart Maynard deployed Abbott as a right-wing back in a 3421 set up.

It was the nightmare start for Notts, when Paddy Madden scored after six minutes, having been found by former Spurs academy player Dilan Markanday.

However, after just 15 minutes, after good link up with Dan Crowley, Abbott hung up a cross to the back post which was nodded in off the post by Alassana Jatta. The idea to play him as a right-wing back paid off in that moment.

There was a not much action after that in the first half, with the sides going into the break at 1-1. The second half was a bit lifeleless, too, until the 74th minute when substitute Will Grigg gave the hosts the lead, with some suspicions of offside and claims from the Notts players.

Abboott was withdrawn with five minutes of normal time left, as Maynard went for the jugular to try and rescue something from the game.

There would be late drama, as four minutes into stoppage time, David McGoldrick scored a rebound after his penalty was saved. He dedicated the goal to former Sheffield United team mate George Baldock by pointing to the sky. The game finished in a 2-2 draw.

In his 85 minutes on the pitch, Abbott recorded; 61 touches, two chances created, five ground duels won, two interceptions, three tackles, and one foul drawn.

This result leaves Notts third in the League Two table, despite this game meaning that they have now only one win in the last five league games. Next up is a home game against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, with a 15:00 BST kick off for that one.
