Tottenham Hotspur are still at risk of relegation and need to get a point off Everton this weekend in order to ensure their Premier League survival under new manager Roberto De Zerbi in this tooth and nail relegation fight with rivals West Ham United.
If Spurs were to go down, they could be facing a mass exodus of top talents, and a handful of their best young players are being scouted by clubs as big as Real Madrid. Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, Luka Vuskovic, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergvall are six stars of the present and future who have been linked to a Royal White side that is highly interested in defense and midfield players. They usually like to sign stars of the future, but Real have been increasingly interested in profiles like Porro and Romero who are already stars now.
Tottenham can't afford to lose him
With Real Madrid waving goodbye to Dani Carvajal at the end of the season, an increasing focus on the transfer rumor mill has been placed on a possible new backup right back for superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold. And not only does Tottenham's Porro have pedigree with the Premier League and Spanish national team, but he is also a player Real Madrid wanted to sign in 2022 from Sporting CP before dragging their feet and watching Spurs swoop in several months later.
Tottenham, though, can breathe easy, because it looks like Real Madrid aren't going to sign the right back this time around either. Diario AS reports, via the Madrid Zone, that Real Madrid are not interested in paying a large sum of money on another right back to be second choice to Trent, who has the starting job well settled now. Real's plan is to roll with the youth academy gems David Jimenez and Jesus Fortea (though they have also been linked to other established Premier League options like Michael Kayode and Diogo Dalot).
Real Madrid are still massive fans of Pedro Porro, but it sounds like Tottenham can scratch them off the list of clubs looking to vulture in for him. Porro has his ups and downs, but he has mostly been up again under Roberto De Zerbi. He is a hard working, two way right back who can win possession, create chances, and progress the ball at a high level. Tottenham don't have any real alternatives to him either, which often leads to Porro being run into the ground. They can't lose him.
