England are out of the World Cup, and for those, like me, who reside on English shores, you might be pondering over the meaning of life itself.
Tottenham Hotspur discourse has been washed away in favour of World Cup fever, but in one fell swoop, all that emotion has escaped me. Now, I'm all in on Roberto De Zerbi's project. What are we? A few weeks away from the Premier League's beginning. I need a Spurs Play subscription to watch every moment of our summer friendlies.
Okay, maybe I won't go that far.
Anyway, transfers. We've spent a lot, and we're going to spend more. Supporters require another dopamine hit after the splurge for two excellent Premier League midfielders, and it looks like we have an idea as to who the next ’bomba‘ will focus on.
Savinho labelled Tottenham's 'chosen target' by insider
The Tottenham insiders are purring once more. The battle of the social media journalists is reaching new heights this summer, with @szyexcl emerging as the most trusted lieutenant.
They've reported that Tottenham's year-long pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho will end with his imminent arrival. ’Szy’ understands that he's the club's "chosen target".
We've been on Savinho's tail since last summer, and it seems as if we've been considering an array of options out wide since completing the deals for Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Cody Gakpo and Rafael Leão have also been linked, with Savinho never drifting out of the picture.
Fabrizio Romano has been particularly hot on any potential deal, and he's recently reposted some of his tweets, or whatever they're now called, regarding Spurs' pursuit of the City star.
Savinho is desperate to get out of Manchester and start fresh in north London. His Instagram stories have been a collection of hints and "come-and-get-me" pleas for the past 12 months. Among his latest was a picture of his home gym, featuring a packed suitcase. Just give him the call and he'll be at Hotspur Way in no time.
Various sources suggest the deal will be worth around £60m, which is a lot for a wide player who doesn't guarantee output. Savinho, though, raises the technical level of our frontline, allowing us to sustain attacks in the final third while also offering variety in one-on-one situations. His versatility will doubtless intrigue Roberto De Zerbi, too.
It's a sizeable reported fee that'll probably garner cries of laughter from rival fans with screenshots of his Premier League goal tally, but Spurs know they're not buying the finished product. This is a potential deal with huge upside.
