Every top club in European football wants to have star players suceeding at the national team level, especially in their country, as it is good for keeping a strong brand. Tottenham don't really have that right now, particularly with the Three Lions.

Not a single Tottenham player is in the squad for the World Cup qualifying match next week against Andorra while only attackers James Maddison and Dominic Solanke are even on the list of players who have recently been called up to England for international duty.

That may change with the summer 2025 transfer window, though, as Tottenham are adding players who are squarely on the national team radar to their transfer wishlist. According to a report from the Daily Mail's Matt Barlow, Tottenham are interested in signing Crystal Palace stars Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze, Lille impending free agent Angel Gomes, youngster Tyler Dibling, and AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori this summer.

Three big names are on the Tottenham list

Besides Tomori, most of these players are well-known transfer links to Tottenham. Eze is one of the biggest names linked to Tottenham, Guehi is perhaps their biggest dream signing, and Gomes is someone they are close to adding.

All of them have a chance to be members of the England squad in the near future, if they are not already. Gomes played against Ireland in November 2024 for England, Guehi faced Latvia in March and was one of the team's standouts at the last European Championship when they reached the Final, and Tomori used to be a national team regular before he lost his form.

Eze has shown he has the quality to play for England this season and has made 10 career appearances for the country. Dibling plays for the U21 side. At 19, he clearly has the upside to be a Three Lions player.

While this shouldn't necessarily guide Tottenham's transfer decisions or policy this summer, nor is it the most important thing, it would be nice for Spurs to have more than just two players on the national team radar and to have players like Eze and Guehi who could potentially be key fixtures in the side in the coming years.

Out of all these players, only Guehi has the ability to be a regular starter for England right now, but, in general, it's nice to see Tottenham's name listed in the England squad sheet when teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City have more of their guys in the team.
