Tottenham Hotspur supporters will not be surprised to see Guglielmo Vicario exit the door this summer transfer window, and it would honestly be a huge upset if he were to start the 2026/27 season as the main man between the sticks. Although young Antonin Kinsky is almost certain to leave on loan after the Atletico Madrid debacle sealed how badly Spurs have botched his development, Vicario is the bigger priority to loosen off in 2026.

Vicario has the worst save percentage among current Premier League starting goalkeepers, and while he is capable of making truly stunning saves, he is also capable of making such back breaking errors that they cost Spurs many points in the table. Their current relegation plight is not entirely due to Vicario, but he has played more than just a small role with the sheer inanity of his errors.

And yet, that has not stopped Inter Milan from showing a significant amount of transfer interest in the former Empoli man, who has other Serie A giants in need of a new goalkeeper, like Inter's arch rivals Juventus, interested in his services.

Tottenham will get what they paid for

As Inter's interest in Vicario heats up, the Daily Mail's Matt Barlow is reporting that the Nerazzuri are actually getitng pretty close to a deal for the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper. Vicario's agent and the Nerazzurri's sporting director have been in touch, and both Tottenham and Vicario are in agreement that it is best for the sides to part ways. But what is most interesting is Barlow reporting that Spurs will likely get 17 million pounds out of the deal, which is about what they paid to Empoli for him.

Vicario may just need a change of scenery and a return to his home country of Italy to get back on trakc, and while Inter is a club with just about as much pressure as Tottenham, including filling Yann Sommer's shoes, the fact that he is wanted so badly by Inter may galvanize him to improve.

Tottenham should not be opposed to selling Vicario at a net even after getting a couple of seasons out of him, and he was pretty decent before his play totally deteroriated this season and even towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign. But Spurs fans will still be disappointed for just a 17 million pound return, as that is pretty measly money for a starting goalkeeper at a big club like Tottenham.
