Tottenham Hotspur are working hard at the negotiating table to bring in star midfielders Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, as these are the two top players Roberto De Zerbi wants to revamp a Spurs midfield that truly has not been Premier League caliber over the last few seasons.

In the meantime, after signing Brighton center back Jan Paul van Hecke for 60 million euros at De Zerbi's request, Spurs are having to fend off lowball offers for Luka Vuskovic in exchange, including a 30 million pound offer to start out with that was seen as an outright insult following the Croatian international's sensational debut season on loan to Hamburg.

Vuskovic, though, has not been making the task any easier, as he and his camp have been putting Spurs under immense pressure by making it clear that he wants to either start or be transferred permanently; he is no longer open to any loan moves this summer.

Tottenham are standing firm

Brighton are continuing to push, and they submitted a fresh transfer offer to Tottenham Hotspur for Luka Vuskovic, upping their bid from 30 million pounds to 45 million pounds, essentially meeting Spurs half way on their asking price of 60 million pounds for the 19 year old center back.

According to a report from Sebastian Stafford-Bloor of The Athletic, Tottenham have decided to reject this offer as well, and Spurs fans will be delighted that the club seem to be taking the stance of having Brighton, or any other interested club, meeting the 60 million pound valuation or heading off.

So far, no other clubs have shown concrete interest in the form of an official transfer bid for Vuskovic, though that may change in the near future. Clubs as big as Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been linked to the center back during the 2025/26 season when Vuskovic was breaking out, though the player does seem to favor Fabian Hurzeler and Brighton already, hence maybe why he is pushing so hard for Tottenham to sell.

But despite the tantrum Vuskovic and his camp are throwing, he is under contract at Tottenham, and Spurs have no real leverage otherwise to sell the player below their valuation. Tottenham fans are probably souring on Vuskovic and his antics at this point, but they also do not want to see Spurs bow down like pushovers and accept a low ball offer for a player who is absolutely one of the most promising center backs in Europe.
