Tottenham Hotspur star center back Luka Vuskovic is only 19 years of age, but he was so good on loan for Hamburg in his first campaign as a senior player that Spurs supporters can already see him as a player capable of walking into their starting lineup, even above Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero - or Romero's presumed replacement Marcos Senesi.

The problem is that Tottenham seem prepared to let Vuskovic go, and while the conversation has mostly been about sending him on another loan, which while disappointing is perfectly reasonable, the dreaded transfer discussions are starting to bubble up.

Big clubs want Vuskovic, because anyone with half a brain cell floating around in their cranium can see that this guy is special and the next big thing in world football: the Spurs supporters calling him a Sergio Ramos regen in the preseason weren't far off. And now, they even sound like they were underselling the Croatian sensation.

Tottenham fans have a new Luka Vuskovic worry

According to Football.London's Alasdair Gold, the figures being floated around by people in the know are 50 and 60 million pounds for the young Luka Vuskovic in terms of what sort of transfer fee he could fetch on the open market this summer transfer window.

While that is a decent sum, the fact that it is in that 50 to 60 million pound range is a huge worry for Tottenham Hotspur supporters. Because it's lower than the valuation Vuskovic will be at in five years if he continues this trajectory and becomes a generational center back, but it is high enough that a club like ENIC could see it as justification to sell the player.

To wit, Tottenham are currently prepared to bid 50 million pounds to Brighton for 25 year old center back Jan Paul van Hecke, whose best season was still nowhere near as good as Vuskovic was last year - and he is more than five years senior to the Croatian international.

Tottenham's big interest in Roberto De Zerbi's former center back at Brighton is a huge reason why the possibility of a Vuskovic sale is even being raised, because without going for Van Hecke, Vuskovic would be sealed as a Tottenham first team player next season.

Spurs supporters need to be worried, because if someone gives Tottenham 60 million pounds, the geniuses at ENIC might giddily take it and see selling Vuskovic and signing Van Hecke as a profit, boasting about the Premier League experience they are getting.
