Tottenham Hotspur have rebuild their midfield now after addressing their defense with a trio of signings, as Spurs spent 185 million pounds combined on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes to transform the base of their midfield for Roberto De Zerbi.
Quickly, Spurs are pivoting to the forward positions as their priority after barely scoring goals last season with little star power beyond 2025 additions Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, who were admittedly hampered by injuries.
Striker may be the biggest priority for Spurs after only Richarlison could find the back of the net at all, and while a dream option like Eli Junior Kroupi will be highlighted, Spurs could sign a pair of strikers and focus on young, ascending talents.
Tottenham have a bargain striker to watch
One player who has been linked to Spurs before is Levante's Etta Eyong, who started the 2025/26 La Liga season brilliantly before the Frogs totally fell apart and started making the foolish decision to deemphasize one of the best young strikers in La Liga - a player even wanted by Barcelona.
Now, Eyong could be even cheaper for Tottenham Hotspur to sign. Because Ben Jacobs is reporting that the 22 year old No. 9's release clause from Levante has now been reduced to 20 million euros, which is chump change compared to what Spurs have spent on Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and even center back Jan Paul van Hecke this summer transfer window.
Furthermore, Jacobs reports that Etta Eyong is still prioritizing a transfer to the Premier League this summer. He could very much be in play for Spurs, though fans would understandably want a 13 goal Premier League striker who is even younger at 20 years of age, Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth, more than Eyong.
Still, Eyong could be a a solid, low risk, high upside secondary striker signing. He can't do much worse than Randal Kolo Muani did as the No. 3 striker last season, as Kolo Muani was a historically terrible loan signing and legitimately one of the worst strikers in the Premier League by the end of the season when the Lilywhites were fending off relegation.
Eyong himself did not do much for a relegation threatened Levante at the end of the 2025/26 La Liga season, but they were even more dysfunctional than Spurs. At 20 million euros, the U23 striker is worth a flier and someone to keep an eye on if De Zerbi decides he likes his game.
