Like The Rock, Dominic Solanke proved to be the Scorpion King on Sunday afternoon, channeling his inner Rene Higuita to produce the goal of the season in the Premier League with a finish truly out of the top drawer - something that has been conspicuously missing from Tottenham Hotspur since the heyday of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Solanke actually scored both of the goals that rescued a draw for Tottenham in their second meeting against title contenders Manchester City, sparing Thomas Frank's blushes again after yet another slow start to an important game.

But just as Tottenham supporters were in jubilation over Solanke's goal and singing the England international's praises, there was also concern about a new injury blow to the former 65 million pound Bournemouth man after he was observed hobbling about the pitch with a potential ankle issue.

Dominic Solanke went down with an ankle problem

The good news is that Tottenham won't have to worry about a new Dominic Solanke blow. He explained to reporters after the match against Manchester City that he is not injured and only rolled his ankle. Solanke said, via The Spurs Web, "I rolled my ankle a bit, but I'll be fine."

Positive injury news has been very hard to come by for Tottenham Hotspur this season. Solanke himself missed many months with a nagging injury that required foot surgery and was still slow to heal, robbing Tottenham of a man who is clearly their best striker, as evidenced by his performances since finally being healthy here in January.

Solanke saved his best performance for this matchup with Manchester City, outshining the great Erling Haaland. And while Randal Kolo Muani does not look likely to leave for Juventus or any other club in the waning hours of the transfer window, his inconsistency and Richarlison's latest injury mean that Solanke is even more important to Tottenham's success right now.

Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur, and others have suffered seemingly minor injuries this season that turned into multi month mishaps. So while Tottenham supporters have been burned enough repeatedly to be cynical and not celebrate until they see Solanke back out on the pitch in the next game, it is wonderful news to hear straight from the striker's mouth that he has not been injured at all. Too often, bright moments like this one for Tottenham have been blighted by injuries at the worst possible time, so crisis averted for Spurs.
