Tottenham have officially announced the arrival of Thomas Frank as manager.

After taking the controversial step to sack Ange Postecoglou less than three weeks on from our 1-0 victory in the Europa League final, the club moved with impressive efficiency to appoint the next man up. Thankfully, we didn't have to endure the facade of 2021 all over again.

Frank supposedly agreed terms with Spurs earlier this week but confirmation of his arrival didn't surface until Thursday evening. There were a few key details which needed ironing out, including which members of Frank's staff at Brentford he'd be taking with him to north London.

Crucially, Spurs were able to prise away the coveted Justin Cochrane from west London, while Chris Haslam, analyst Joe Newton and potential set-piece coach Andreas Georgson have also joined the club. I highly recommend checking out Frank's 'Day in the Life' video on Sky Sports' YouTube channel for a little more insight into Cochrane and Newton, in particular.

Thomas Frank pens three-year contract with Tottenham

Tottenham have confirmed Frank's arrival on a three-year contract which runs until 2028. Their opening statement was understandably full of praise for the new boss and offered some insight as to why we've appointed the Dane.

'In Thomas, we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game. He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead,' the club wrote.

While the emotion of Bilbao means there will always be a sense of what could've been with Postecoglou, I'm content with knowing that the Australian's legacy in N17 will be secure in perpetuity. He'll always have that night in northern Spain.

Now, it's time to get excited for Frank. A charismatic and honest manager who has worked wonders with Brentford, he seems like an excellent fit for this club. Christian Eriksen believes his compatriot is the right man for the job, labelling us and Frank as the "perfect match."

There's an underdog spirit within the Dane, and although Spurs have spent the 2020s trying to act like a seismic beast, our very best seems to manifest in the absence of expectations.

With Champions League football beckoning for the new manager and a daunting UEFA Super Cup clash against Europe's best serving as his first taste of European football (excluding qualifiers), the 51-year-old is set to embark on an array of unprecedented challenges.

But Frank has proven his worth for just shy of a decade at Brentford as one of the canniest operators. His iteration of Spurs is bound to contrast Ange's high-intensity sprints utopia, but he will set his side up to ensure they're given the best chance to win game-by-game.

This is a man capable of filling the emotional void left by Ange, and someone who has spoken glowingly of our squad in the past. There's no reason for discontent to emerge in Lilywhite quarters anytime soon.

A new dawn beckons.
