Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, as Roberto De Zerbi has earned a lot of cred within the organization to exercise the power vested in him that was given when he agreed to take on a job that no other top manager would have wanted. De Zerbi has brought infectious energy to N17, and after saving Spurs from Premier League relegation, he will surely want upgrades at all level of the starting lineup and bench.

But it is also important to remember that there are a lot of talented players De Zerbi has not yet gotten to sink his teeth into and begin working with. If he can help Conor Gallagher, Joao Palhinha, and Rodrigo Bentancur play at a high level, then imagine what he will be able to do with someone like Mohammed Kudus, who was one of the best wingers in the Premier League and the clear star for Tottenham before his season ending injury.

Likewise, there are quieter players worth watching next season under Roberto De Zerbi, and one of them is another winger in Wilson Odobert. The young Frenchman had a few nifty performances on the left side rotating with fellow young Frenchman Mathys Tel, but he really had his best displays on the right hand side of the offense after Kudus went down with his injury.

Another sleeper for Roberto De Zerbi

Tottenham paid a good price to get Odobert from Burnley, and though he needed a bit of time to get going, Odobert was a real breakout gem by the end of his 2025/26 Premier League and Champions League campaign before he had suffered a torn ACL of his own.

Wilson Odobert has great creativity and skill in tight spaces, and he is one of the best dribblers and linking players in the team. De Zerbi loves these quick little players who keep the ball, make tidy passes, and are actively running and looking to be incisive.

It will not be easy for Odobert to get starts once Mohammed Kudus is back next season, but with Dejan Kulusevski's long term future still an unknown as a result of a devastating knee injury, there is room for Odobert to get significant minutes. And his versatility on both flanks is a real asset for him to get more playing time, including the fact that he can even play as an attacking midfielder if Tottenham need him to do so.
