Inter Milan have cooled their interest in Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, but rivals Juventus are now heating up their interest in a player many Spurs fans would like to see sold this summer so that the runway can be clear for either Antonin Kinsky or a new goalkeeper to be the No. 1 next season.

Vicario had a horrible season, and one of the big reasons why Spurs saved themselves from Premier League relegation was the emergence of the young Kinsky following Vic's hernia surgery. Despite being younger and making the wrong kinds of headlines for slips and falls against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League knockouts, Kinsky proved to be far more mature and far less prone to mistakes between the sticks.

Tottenham fans would be fully on board Kinsky remaining the starter when the 2026/27 Premier League campaign begins, but Spurs have also been looking at some exciting options on the transfer market in goal. The best of the bunch is James Trafford, who was supposed to be the starter at Manchester City before the Citizens pulled the rug out from underneath him by signing PSG's Champions Leauge winner Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Tottenham are going back to PSG for a target

Well, Tottenham Hotspur are now back involved with PSG's replacement for Donnarumma last summer, the young Lucas Chevalier. Initially one of the best goalkepeers in Ligue 1 at a young age over at Lille, Chevalier flopped so bad in Paris that he got swiftly benched, and PSG won the Champions League without him in goal.

According to a report from Loic Tanzi of L'Equipe, Chevalier is available for transfer this summer out of PSG after such a dreary debut season for the biggest club in France, and Tottenham have recently enquired about signing the 24 year old shot stopper from the best team in European football.

Chevalier was terrible last season, but he was incredible the year before that. And he is still young. As with two diametrically opposite seasons in quality in back to back years, the truth of the player lies somewhere in between. Chevalier is not world class, but he is also not a terrible keeper. He is a good but flawed young goalkeeper who needs the right environment.

It is debatable if Chevalier would start over Antonin Kinsky in the future, and based on last season's performances, the Czech keeper is the better one. But if James Trafford is unachievable or simply unaffordable, Chevalier is better than a lot of the other options out there.
