Tottenham Hotspur will likely end the week having signed a trio of attacking standouts to beef up their offense ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League and Champions League seasons. They already sealed the signing of left winger Mathys Tel early in the window before securing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, and they are a petty temper tantrum from Nottingham Forest away from snagging attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, too.
It would seem that Tottenham have their attacking options figured out for next season, but there's an indication that Spurs fans hoping for even more positivity from Daniel Levy in the transfer market will get their wish.
According to information from Give Me Sport insider Ben Jacobs while speaking on the Last Word on Spurs show, Tottenham are still interested in signing a left winger this summer even after nabbing Tel from Bayern Munich early in the window.
Son Heung-min is on his last legs
Tottenham would be wise to consider the right option on the left wing, even with optimism surrounding Tel. That's both because Tel still isn't proven yet, but it's also because mainstay starter Son Heung-min is on an expiring contract and almost certainly moving on from Tottenham after this season.
Now 33 years of age - as of 11 days ago - Son is in the downswing of his career and started to be plagued by a foot injury by the end of an uneven 2024/25 campaign. He could have been sold this summer, but both Son and Tottenham mutually decided as a courtesy to have the captain - if he still remains captain - stay to bridge eras, so to speak, and help Tottenham maintain their footing in the Champions League.
Tottenham need a successor to Son, and even if that ends up being Tel, they still need to sign another left winger to be in a partnership with the talented Frenchman. If Spurs can find the right candidate this summer, there's no reason why they should wait another year, especially since Son's injury woes by the end of the 2024/25 campaign indicate that they may need to be three-deep there.
On the right side, Tottenham now have three quality options after signing Mohammed Kudus to go with Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson. But on the left, there's only Son and Tel, so you can see why another left winger, such as Atalanta's Ademola Lookman, could be of interest to Spurs.
