Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane is finally getting the true extent of appreciation he deserves, as the Bayern Munich superstar has blossomed as part of one of European football's most historically dominant franchises. At the age of 32, Kane is better than ever in the 2025/26 season, and he is the current Ballon d'Or front runner as the best all around striker in the game - bar none, with no comparable peer.

Although Kane is 100 percent focused on his current season at Bayern Munich, the England international quietly has a 65 million euro release clause that will be active in the January 2026 transfer window. And if someone were to make a credible offer at any point in 2026, there is a distinct possibility of a move, even if Bayern and Kane currently deny it.

Tottenham fans have been dreaming of a reunion with Kane, who is the missing piece they gave away. Now that the team has improved the squad and hired Thomas Frank to coach them, a reunion with Kane and a top class left winger like Antoine Semenyo could boost Spurs back to Premier League title contention.

European giants continue Harry Kane interest

The thing is, Tottenham aren't the only team in need of a striker and dreaming of a Kane splash. FC Barcelona are on the same plane as Bayern as giants in Europe, and they are looking to replace their aging superstar striker, Robert Lewandowski, with another icon of the game who could make the move from Bayern to Barca.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo's Fernando Polo and Sergi Sole, a Harry Kane transfer to Barcelona is starting to build momentum as a possibility, as he has now become the main dream target for the club at the striker position to replace Lewandowski. Barcelona are smitten with his playing style in terms of his work rate and creativity, the goals that he brings, and the fact that they can sign a Ballon d'Or level player for 65 million euros.

Tottenham have beaten Barcelona on the transfer market recently for young midfield gem Lucas Bergvall, but Kane is a different beast entirely. And although Spurs are on the uptrend, they have not proven to Kane that they are better equipped to win titles than Bayern or Barca. They never have been in their history. So with Barcelona accelerating their interest in Kane, Spurs know they face an uphill battle.
