Tottenham Hotspur have yet to hire their next manager after parting ways with Igor Tudor, who was not even a long term appointment anyway, over the weekend, so take most transfer reporting with a pinch of salt since Roberto De Zerbi may throw it all out the window when he comes on board - if he even stays beyond the end of the 2025/26 season.

Spurs are staring down relegation from the Premier League and have bigger immediate fish to fry than who they are going to scout in the summer transfer window, but identifying targets is a year round process and Spurs do have to stay ahead of the curve, especially with young talents.

Current sporting director Johan Lange may not be the sporting director in a month either, as Spurs also have a vacancy for this position, with the likes of Sebastian Kehl vying for the job. But Lange will be staying on, unless the Lewis Family fire him first for other failings, as he is great at one thing, which is talent ID.

Tottenham want to sign Club Brugge star

According to a report from Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg and Nico Ditter, Johan Lange has identified a new talent for Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are set to battle with Bundesliga powerhouses Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, as well as bitter rivals Arsenal and potentially other clubs around European football for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi.

Brugge are the best team in Belgium and a mainstay in the Champions League, with a great mix of rising young stars and underrated veterans. They have been exceptional at identifying unheralded talent, and the 21 year old striker Tresoldi is one of them.

In about 1,800 league minutes this season, Tresoldi has found the back of the net 13 times and has shown good hold up play as a 9. It makes sense for the clubs behind Bayern Munich in Germany to want him, and Leverkusen could sign him as a Christian Kofane replacement if a big club wants to splash major cash on their breakout striker.

Tresoldi is affordable, as Plettenberg and Ditter report that he would cost just 25-30 million euros, which is appropriate and within Spurs price range. Even if Tottenham were relegated to the EFL Championship, Tresoldi would make sense. And though Spurs should be after more proven names at striker to upgrade on Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, young emerging talents like Tresoldi are never a bad idea to monitor - and if Spurs go down, they may all they can get.
