Tottenham Hotspur have already signed two forwards this summer who could be starting-caliber players next season in the Premier League and have already been starters this past season, as they inked Mathys Tel to a permanent deal from Bayern Munich to play on the left side with Mohammed Kudus joining from West Ham on the right for a cool 55 million pounds.

Thereafter, Tottenham are fully expected to land attacking midfield talent Morgan Gibbs-White, too, essentially covering all the big non-striker positions depth-wise. But with Son Heung-min getting older and no real backup for Dominic Solanke if Richarlison were to be sold, Tottenham do have more room to add attacking quality before the transfer window closes this summer.

Atalanta's Ademola Lookman is fresh off a third straight strong campaign in Serie A as arguably the best attacking player in the league from the 2024/25 season when looking at his all-around play and consistency. With a career-high 15 goals, even Inter Milan, who are well-stocked at the striker position, have taken notice of their title rival's crown jewel.

It's Tottenham vs. Inter Milan again

Now, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Inter have stepped up their interest in Lookman to such an extent that they have now reached a "total agreement" on personal terms. However, a deal isn't completely done, because Inter have yet to agree with Atalanta to terms on a deal.

Atalanta are still pushing for a full 50 million euros to be paid for Lookman, whereas Inter have been offering 40 million euros. That's not a huge difference, though, so if Tottenham want to land a left winger and striker who outscored all of their own players in league goals last season, then they will likely have to act quickly before Inter ultimately scoop him up.

Although Lookman is already in his prime at 27 years old and doesn't hold much resale value, 50 million euros is a reasonable asking price for one of the best players in his league. From Tottenham's perspective, Lookman would be cheaper than any of the established attackers they signed this window, though, especially in Kudus's case, not by much.

But you do need established commodities to win, as Tottenham learned the hard way last season, and Lookman is a proven player at the elite level in Serie A and even the Champions League. He's worth a second look, but if Spurs don't act soon, he is going to be off the table entirely. Inter are a stone's throw away.
