It took just one hour for Tottenham to find their new James Maddison

Tottenham got off to winning ways over the weekend, as they slotted three past Burnley without reply. It was the perfect occasion for Thomas Frank, who saw his philosophy come to life and, as it stands, sits third in the Premier League table.

Say what you will about Tottenham facing a newly promoted team. Spurs can only beat what's in front of them, and, sure, Spurs will face tougher opponents in the weeks to come, but they've started how they mean to go on.

Throughout the game, there was one standout player, and it wasn't Richarlison who scored two goals. Instead, it was Mohammed Kudus, who repaid Tottenham's investment and then some. He also proved they needn't worry about James Maddison's injury.

Mohammed Kudus matches James Maddison's record at Tottenham

According to BBC Sport, only two players have assisted two or more goals for Tottenham in their league debuts. James Maddison and Mohammed Kudus.

Matching this record set by Maddison is quite telling, and a sign for Tottenham fans that the stars have aligned themselves.

Everybody knew Kudus was a keen creator. He showed at West Ham through his deft touch and inteliigence that he can bring the best out of his peers. It didn't take him long to prove that at Tottenham.

Within just 10 minutes, Kudus provided his first assist for Tottenham. Then, at the hour mark, he provided his second. He may well have got a hat-trick of assists but in the end, two will do.

Within just an hour, Tottenham fans found their anxieties surrounding James Maddison relieved. They have signed a creative player who can match his output, and then some.

But look, Tottenham fans aren't blindsided. They know that Kudus can't carry the creative onus by himself. Tottenham tried having just one creative outlet in the past, and it ended horribly. Now, they must add more resources to bolstering their creativity.

Anyone heard from Eberechi Eze, by chance?
