Piero Hincapié
In the last couple of years, Piero Hincapié has shown himself to be one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. The defender was in and out of the Bayer Leverkusen side last year, but still contributed to their historic season, and has found himself playing more this season as a result.
In Xabi Alonso’s three at the back system, Hincapié tends to play as the left sided centre back, but has also played as a left wing-back, left-back, and left centre back in a back four.
Despite being just 22 years of age, the defender is already in his fourth season at Leverkusen. He has also earned 43 Ecuador caps to date, and has represented La Tri in two Copa Americas and a World Cup so far.
This one perhaps feels the most ambitious, but with the discrepancy between the leagues, it could be possible. The defender will have two 1/2 years on his contract from January, which is not an immediate worry for the Bundesliga side, but also past being “long term” at this point.
