Tottenham Hotspur have a busy summer transfer window ahead of them, but they've already accomplished two key tasks. The first is hiring Thomas Frank to replace the beloved Ange Postecoglou at manager. While Postecoglou's firing stung the Tottenham fanbase, Frank is the kind of high-upside, innovative hire who can make Spurs forgive the controversial decision.

The second and arguably even more important move was the decision to secure a permanent transfer for left winger Mathys Tel at a discounted rate of 35 million euros. Tel can be the future of the left wing position, as club legend Son Heung-min's future appears to be increasingly away from North London as he enters the final year of his contract with significant interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

If Son is to be sold this summer, then Tottenham are going to have to pivot quickly to signing a replacement on the left wing. Although Tel certainly has the upside to be the next man up, Tottenham may want to nab someone sure-fire and have Tel compete with that more experienced player for starts.

Tottenham's arch rivals Arsenal have a need on the left wing of their own after another stagnant season from Gabriel Martinelli, and while they already have a dream target identified in Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes, they have been watching another top-class option on the left wing, too.

It's time to get one back on Arsenal

According to a report from Italian transfer insider Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal are back in for Atalanta star left winger and center forward Ademola Lookman. The have reentered talks to sign Lookman, who could potentially be made available by the Bergamo-based Serie A side in 2025.

Lookman has been the key player for Atalanta these last two seasons and was arguably the best player in the Italian top flight last season. The 27-year-old Nigerian international is entering the prime of his career and just scored 15 goals with 5 assists, averaging 2 key passes per game for La Dea as one of the most decisive and versatile attackers in Serie A.

A borderline world-class player, the current version of Lookman is an easy upgrade on the current version of Son, and he's just at the right spot where Tottenham can afford him, have him start without him getting his ego hurt by yielding some competition to Tel, and benefit from his goals and versatility.

Lookman can start on the left wing for Tottenham, and he can also start at striker for Dominic Solanke, potentially replacing Richarlison, too. He's the caliber of player Spurs should be watching and is a very achievable signing. Instead of watching Arsenal always beating them to the punch, Tottenham can be the ones who are proactive and sign a valuable transfer target at a position of need above their North London rivals.
