The ultimate outcome for Richarlison and Tottenham this winter should be obvious

Striker Richarlison is never going to play another minute for Tottenham Hotspur, and while there are probably a few peope who think that Roberto De Zerbi's decision leaves the Brazilian international hard done by, for most people, there is little sympathy for the player and a larger feeling that the ship has sailed.

In order to avoid any cuts to his wages, which is understandable on some level professionally, Richarlison barred supposed dream moves to childhood club Vasco da Gama in Brazil and then his first Premier League love Everton before that. Those decisions soured the fan base on him, and the Everton rejection really lit a fire under De Zerbi, who felt that Richy was not honest with everyone about his intentions and his desire to leave the club, feeling a bit jerked around by the striker.

Now that Tottenham are winning games and looking like a great team under De Zerbi's tactics, there aren't going to be many people choosing Richarlison's side anymore. And while Spurs are still without a top 9 to complete the squad, it's not like Richarlison, despite being Spurs leading scorer last season, was a great option either - and few would honestly argue that he is a better player than either Omar Marmoush or even Mathys Tel (Dominic Solanke may be a different story, though).

Turkey is calling to Richarlison

Leaving the summer transfer saga at just Vasco da Gama and Everton would be leaving the story incomplete, though. Because Richarlison could have gotten his wishes with wages and "reunited" with former Merseyside rival Mohamed Salah to form quite the striker pairing at Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig. But for some silly reason, Tottenham Hotspur did not accept the move.

The Trabzonspor transfer rumors are already revived again, though, even a couple of months away from the January transfer window. They are still interested in the player, and while the financial details and foreign player allocation rules will ultimately play a key role, Trabzonspor has to be an attractive option for both Tottenham and Richarlison.

Tottenham need to sign a top 9 in the winter transfer window, with many Spurs fans dreaming of Eli Junior Kroupi from AFC Bournemouth. But Tottenham need to get Richy's wages off the books and ideally get a few million pounds back out of a player they probably should have sold to Trabzonspor months ago. Trabzonspor being back in for Richy for a quick sale in the winter before summer free agency is a no brainer move for Spurs and an obvious conclusion to this saga for all parties.
