Although Tottenham Hotspur are close to securing Morgan Gibbs-White, they have already nabbed two impact attacking players in the summer 2025 transfer window, signing Mathys Tel on a permanent basis from Bayern Munich and then West Ham's uber-talented Mohammed Kudus.
More players than these three could be on the way for Tottenham, but, as it stands, that's a pretty good haul for Thomas Frank to work with as the new Tottenham manager, as he's done more with less while at Brentford.
Kudus, in particular, is a highly intriguing young player who looked like a special talent at Ajax and got to flash some of that potential in the Premier League for West Ham, but he was largely undone by an entirely incompetent organization that severely hamstrung Kudus's best abilities in his second season.
Frank was full of praise for Kudus at a press conference ahead of the friendly against Reading, giving high praise to Daniel Levy and the other key decision-makers at N17 for bringing in the 55 million pound explosive attacker from their London rivals.
The benefit of being unpredictable
The manager said, via The Spurs Express, "It is a great signing. Top work from Daniel, Vinai and Johan in getting a really good player in ahead of pre-season. He gives us unpredictability in the game. His finishing is really good. He is almost the perfect age to not just perform but take the next level."
Kudus's unpredictable nature on the ball is what could really carve defenses open in the Premier League this season. With better players around him and a much better coach than the likes of Julen Lopetegui - and, yes, Graham Potter - Kudus could explode as a 24-year-old in the Tottenham offense.
Even in a down year, Kudus was still a difference-maker for West Ham. Yes, he only had eight goal contributions in the Premier League last season, but he was doing so much heavy lifting that didn't get rewarded in such an anemic offense. Kudus was averaging a whopping five dribbles completed and fouls drawn per game for the Hammers, which, funny enough, was actually a decline from his numbers in his first season in London.
Frank turned Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney into the biggest breakout attacking stars in back-to-back Premier League seasons, so imagine what he can do with the more naturally gifted Kudus in 2025/26. He thinks Kudus can reach that "next level" soon, and it would be foolish to bet against either of them.
