Tottenham Hotspur have landed the two biggest fish of their summer 2026 transfer window so far, breaking their transfer record in consecutive days to bring home Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United for 85 million pounds and then another Roberto De Zerbi favorite, Sandro Tonali of Newcastle United, for 100 million pounds.
Next up for Spurs will be rebuilding the attack after they put together the defense and midfield. There are two big signings that could be coming in to address needs on the left wing and at striker. Here is an early look at the starting lineup and formation for De Zerbi in the 2026/27 Premier League season if these big attacking signings go through.
GK Antonin Kinsky
LB Destiny Udogie
CB Micky van de Ven
CB Jan Paul van Hecke
RB Pedro Porro
There is no need to belabor the point on the subject of the defense. This is the best back four Tottenham Hotspur have at their disposal. Destiny Udogie, when healthy, offers ball progression superior to the other options, Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven were pillars at the World Cup despite an early exit, and Pedro Porro has no peer at right back. As for Antonin Kinsky, Tottenham have made it clear that this is his team going forward after his heroics in the relegation battle.
DM Mateus Fernandes
DM Sandro Tonali
AM Xavi Simons
Tottenham paid 185 million pounds on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes so that the Premier League duo would start immediately for Spurs, and they are as good of a double pivot as No. 10 Xavi Simons could ever ask for. They will put in the defensive leg work for the Dutchman while also giving him the sort of progressive passing and quality on the ball that last season's midfielders could not.
LW Savinho
ST Eli Junior Kroupi
RW Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham have been after Savinho for a year now, and this is the summer they finally land the Brazilian winger. Manchester City are more open to selling, and Spurs need a dynamic player out wide who can take guys on and hold the width of the pitch.
Striker is an even bigger need, though, because at least Mathys Tel can cause danger on the left side. Neither Richarlison nor Dominic Solanke are good enough for a team with top five ambitions, and while Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi is 20 years old and may not even be available from the Cherries for transfer, if there is any shot at him, Spurs have to take it. He already outscored everyone on Spurs last season with 13 Premier League goals.
