Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a blockbuster swap deal that will send Richarlison back to Everton and bring in Iliman Ndiaye, whose transfer fee will be 60 million pounds in total. Ndiaye was one of the breakout stars on the wing in the last Premier League season, and he has been on Spurs radar for months. Here is how the Tottenham starting XI could look for Roberto De Zerbi if Ndiaye is confirmed as the third attacking addition of the summer alongside Omar Marmoush and Savio.
Defense: GK Antonin Kinsky - LB Destiny Udogie - CB Micky van de Ven - CB Jan Paul van Hecke - RB Pedro Porro
There is still going to be some competition for spots in the Tottenham Hotspur defense, and Marcos Senesi is a real sleeper to steal a starting job. Roberto De Zerbi has put most of the competition at left back, but, honestly, anyone who wants to start Andy Robertson over Destiny Udogie just wants to see Spurs lose at this point.
Midfield: DM Sandro Tonali - DM Rodrigo Bentancur - AM Mateus Fernandes
James Maddison is injured, but even when he gets back from his shoulder dislocation, he isn't going to be a part of the best Tottenham Hotspur XI. Spurs just can't rely on Madders right now, while Mateus Fernandes is on absolute fire and just showed against Newcastle United that he can play this 10 role. Rodrigo Bentancur has continued his best form from the end of the last season, and if Spurs are going to play their best possible players, Bentancur over Maddison is now the decision for De Zerbi.
Attack: LW Iliman Ndiaye - CF Omar Marmoush - RW Savio
Iliman Nidaye is more of a traditioanl winger on the right in profile, but Tottenham want goals, with De Zerbi already pushing Savio to try and score more. If that is the case, then Ndiaye as a natural right footer on the left makes much more sense, and he coudl have more goals in him than he showed last season at Everton, given he pretty much had to play on the right so that Jack Grealish could play on the left, even though Ndiaye was the better of the two wingers.
Savio vs. Mohammed Kudus is the real competition here, but Savio has the advantage over Mohammed Kudus. Not only is he the newer and more expensive signing, but he showed against Charlton and even a few years ago at Girona that he has more technical quality and scoring upside. If Spurs want goals, Savio on the right might be De Zerbi's best move.
