Ange showed adaptability

Whether rightly or wrongly, Ange has been criticised by many for his stubbornness. His unwillingness to adapt. For not having a plan B. We did, however, see some tweaks from the manager tonight.

For a start, the aforementioned tweak to a 4231. Playing Dejan Kulusevski on the right hand side (as he has done a couple of times of late), despite how well he has played in midfield. Controlling the game second half, and preserving energy ahead of the big games that are coming up.

It has often felt like Spurs can only play at 100mph under Ange, with that sometimes bearing fruits - but also being the sides achilles heel. Sometimes halves not being entertaining can be a good thing. It means you're controlling the situation, managing the game well. Liverpool have been very successful this season, and have had plenty of halves like that.

Admittedly, you won't get many better scenarios to try out a change in. However, it is still good to see that it happened, and that it worked - less taken out of the players ahead of the next few games, and no injuries - all whilst preserving the clean sheet. In fact, the injury to Udogie perhaps made Ange more mindful of taking the sting out of the game.
