First clean sheet in six games

Whilst it was a bit more by luck than by design, a first clean sheet since the win over Manchester City was welcome, and it is nice to see Forster get rewarded for his fine form of late with this shutout, as he returned back to his old stomping ground.

The performance of Gray was pretty encouraging, too. The poor guy has started all across the backline but not in midfield yet. He has a deceptively big frame, and showed some really good box defending to cut out a cross destined to be met at the far post in stoppage time.

We really did see an encouraging performance from Spence too. It is a shame for him that he had to move over to left-back, with Udogie's injury, but he still played fairly well. The carry and assist for Maddison's goal was superb, and it was his carrying up field that lead to the midfielder's second goal.

Should Udogie miss the game against Manchester United, you would have to think that Spence will start. Perhaps the withdrawal after 77 minutes was with that game in mind. Finally, a fine performance from Dragusin, who definitely needed this. Poor opponent, sure, but have to start somewhere.
