It is clear that Spurs are ready to make a number of signings in this January transfer window, to try and help their depleted squad compete in the remaining months of the 24/25 campaign. They have already moved to bring in goalkeeper Antonio Kinsky from Slavia Prague, and have been linked to a several other host of names, with plenty of credible sources reaffirming this.
Out of favour forward linked with a loan move to Tottenham
The latest player to be linked is Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail suggesting that Spurs, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund all want to bring in the player on loan this January transfer window.
As per his report, "any deal could hinge on [the] proportion of his wages Manchester United would cover, and the fee of an obligation to buy."
It was all the way back in 2016 when Rashford first broke into the United first team, doing enough to make the England Euro 2016 squad at just 18 years of age. He has had plenty of ups and downs since then, but is currently going through one of those lows, having barely got a kick since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag, despite scoring three goals in the manager's first few games in charge.
Not long before Christmas, when speaking to journalist Henry Winter, the player himself admitted it was time for a new challenge, which really caught attention nationwide, with most assuming that would now be the end of his time at Old Trafford.
In terms of the attack under Ange Postecoglu, he does have traits that would suit the team. He is able to make runs in behind the backline, whilst having top tier ball striking and being a goal threat. The link up with Dominic Solanke being foil to play off, would, in theory, work quite well, and they would make a good duo.
However, one of the biggest critcisisms of Rashford has been his work, or lack there of, out of possession. He has been singled out for not pressing, nor tracking back to help his full-back when United do not have the ball. Unless that drastically changes, he would definitely not be a good fit for an Ange side that love to press high and win the ball back in the opposition half.
Certainly a good player when on form, but this does not feel like the best fit in the current Spurs side. Interesting link.
