Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has been rewarded for his fine performance and two goals on his birthday in the 4-0 win over Manchester City, with a place in the EAFC 25 team of the week, for week 11 of the game.

The Spurs number ten has been given an 86 rated card, with base stats of; 73 pace, 82 shooting, 87 passing, 86 dribbling, 55 defending, and 65 physical.

Beyond these base stats, the midfielder also has; 86 agility, 85 balance, 90 ball control, 86 positioning, and 90 composure – amongst other pretty impressive stats. The base position is central midfield, with alternative positions of right midfield and number ten.

It is safe to say that Maddison is not the first Spurs player to be given a team of the week since EAFC 25 was released towards the end of September. Heung Min-Son, Micky van de Ven, Luka Vuskovic, Radu Dragusin, and Dominic Solanke have all been named in previous iterations of the team of the week so far.

There could have been a lot of Spurs players in this week’s version. Nearly every starter at the Etihad would have made a case, particularly Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin, and Pedro Porro.

It was not just the two goals from Maddison that were so impressive, with the 28-year old putting in a superb all round display, with and without the ball. In his 89 minutes on the pitch, he drew five fouls, won nine ground duels, completed 2/2 dribbles, and had 66 touches, despite Spurs not having as much of the ball as they usually do.

Elsewhere in this team of the week, Tottenham Hotspur loanee Bryan Gil features with an 83 rated card, after he scored and provided a further two assists in Girona’s 4-1 win over Alejo Veliz and RCD Espanyol at the weekend. The Spurs linked Matheus Cunha is also included, after his brace and assist for Wolves at Fulham last weekend.

Furthermore, EA have released a “best of” team of the week, featuring some of the best cards to be named in the team of the week. Included in this side is Son, who was named in team of the week two, for his assists and general all round performance during the 3-1 win over Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September. Former long term partner Harry Kane is also in that side.
