On Friday afternoon, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, and the rest of the Sweden national team traveled to Slovakia for their third nations league group of the campaign.

For this one, captain Kulusevski was named in the starting XI, playing up front along with Viktor Gyokeres, as Alexander Isak missed this one due to a toe injury sustained playing for Newcastle United. The Spurs number 21 was Lucas Bergvall was amongst the substitutes bench.

Sweden raced into a 2-0 lead with two goals in seven first half minutes, but Slovakia got one back just before the break. In the second half, their hosts got an equaliser, and that was to be the final goal of the game and it ended in a 2-2 draw. It is hard to picture how Sweden were not able to win the game, having six big chances to Slovakia's two, and nineteen shots to their eleven.

Unfortunately, Bergvall remained an unused substitute, despite Jon Dahl Tomasson only making three of his alloted five substitutions, with one being in injury time. However, Kulusevski played for the entirety of the 90 minutes, and played very well at that.

The 24-year old had seven shots, including two on target. He had 65 touches of the ball, created three chances, two big chances, that were both missed by Gyokeres, drew one foul, and completed three dribbles throughout the game.

Despite the frustration of blowing a two goal lead, things still look reasonably good for Sweden in their nations league, league C group. They remain top of the group on goal difference, with plus five compared to Slovakia's plus three, as both teams sit on seven points from their three games so far.

Next up for Kulusevski, Bergvall, and Sweden is a trip to Estonia in another nations league game on Monday night, with kick off for that one being 19:45 BST.
