Nicknamed "The Shark", Ferran Torres became a household name after scoring the winning goal for the Spanish national team in their 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup Final. Torres came off the bench and showed why he is a superior forward to Alex Baena, but Luis de la Fuene has been trusting the Barcelona striker as an impact striker off the bench at the World Cup.

Although Torres is not known for his finishing prowess at Barca and has been starting in the middle more so for his linking qualities and elite movement, Torres certainly rose to the occasion to sink Argentina when his team needed the cool head in extra time.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been wondering about Torres as an option for them this summer transfer window. He has been whispered as a possible transfer option with many Culers wanting him out and a true No. 9 in who can score more goals, and PSG have been particularly interested in the La Liga star.

Ferran Torres still wants Barcelona

However, a report from L. Miguelsanz of Diario Sport after the World Cup Final states that Barcelona want to keep Ferran Torres in Catalunya. PSG are trying to accelerate their own interest in the forward and seal the deal in the coming two weeks, but Torres's own priority is to stay with Barca and sign a contract extension. Due to the salary cap issues Barca continue to have, their plan is to wait until after the summer transfer window ends and then sign Torres to an extension at the start of the 2026/27 La Liga season.

Tottenham desperately need both a left winger and a striker, and Torres would be a better option in either position than what they currently have, even if he is not exactly known for his finishing prowess. But the minute he scored that goal to win the World Cup for Spain, Spurs had to know Torres's demand was going to go up and their own chances of a transfer were going to become unlikely.

So far, Tottenham Hotspur have not shown concrete interest in Torres, and, at this point, Tottenham fans know his transfer is almost impossible. It is either Barcelona or PSG, but with Hansi Flick loving what Torres brings to the table and Torres adamant on staying, Spurs fans have to come to the realization that Torres is not going to be coming to them this summer.
