Tottenham Hotspur have overhauled their midfield with the 185 million pound blockbuster additions of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, and whlie they had already made a trio of major signings to upgrade the defense for Roberto De Zerbi, bagging these two big names ahead of the likes of Arsenal and even Real Madrid sent a shockwave of a message to all of the Premier League and Europe's elite that Spurs have finally come to play.
And you can tell that the other big transfer targets on Spurs radar are taking notice and excited by the Spurs project further. De Zerbi has charismatically sold his vision on the players he has brought in, with Tonali gushing and never even considering Arsenal, Manchester City, or the others linked once he heard what RDZ had planned.
At a time when Tottenham Hotspur are ready to focus on the most expensive and splashiest players they need the most to boost the attack, the message being sent and received could not be more important for the Lilywhites.
Savinho really wants Spurs
On Instagram, Tottenham's longest tenured winger target, Savinho of Manchester City, immediately started following Sandro Tonali on social media after his official transfer announcement with Spurs was revealed.
Tottenham fans want to see the club close the deal for Savinho, and this wink from the Man City man is a huge clue that he still wants this move and is serious about Spurs. Tonali was actually a big Man City target, so Savinho following him even though he is going to Spurs is no accident; it is a clear sign to Spurs that he wants to make the move to North London and be an important player for them.
Even though Tottenham are also having dreams of AC Milan superstar Rafael Leao now that his World Cup with Portugal is over, both Leao and Savinho are totally different types of players. And with how dire the Tottenham attack was last season, there is more than enough room for the Lilywhites to sign multiple wingers, along with a striker, to vastly upgrade their attack this summer transfer window. Tottenham can also benefit from having Savinho play on both wings.
It is massive to have a player like Tonali who moves the meter and gets big players like Leao and Savinho excited about the possibility of joining Spurs. This is what being serious and investing can do for your club, so kudos for Roberto De Zerbi for giving this organization a good kick in the pants.
