I think it's fair to say that we're already bored of this Morgan Gibbs-White debacle, but there has at least been some positive news from a Spurs perspective.
The club moved swiftly after securing the signing of Mohammed Kudus of West Ham, triggering a £60m release clause in Gibbs-White's contract that we weren't supposed to know about. If reports are to be believed, Forest have ceased all communications with us since, yet we supposedly remain hopeful that the Englishman will eventually end up in Lilywhite.
There's been very little movement on the transfer front out of N17 since the Gibbs-White saga started, with supporters growing frustrated while rivals strengthen.
Man City ruled out of Morgan Gibbs-White running in boost for Spurs
Manchester City have no plans to re-enter the race to sign Morgan Gibbs-White, despite Nottingham Forest hoping someone will rival Tottenham for his signature #mcfc https://t.co/UNZ1J5mC8Y

Forest are seemingly resigned to losing their. No. 10 this summer, given that he's got two years left on his contract and is seemingly unwilling to sign a new deal. This is their last chance to cash in on a prized asset, although it appears that Evangelos Marinakis wants a little more than our illegal £60m.
That's fair enough, but you have to wonder why such a clause was there in the first place. Perhaps it was necessary for the club to land Gibbs-White in the first place.
Manchester Evening News’ Tyrone Marshall is among those to report that Forest are hoping someone else will come in for the England international so they can sell him for a higher price. However, Marshall adds that Manchester City, who were in for Gibbs-White at the start of the summer before they pivoted to Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, have "no plans" to re-emerge in the race.
There have otherwise been few links to other clubs, with Spurs happy to play the waiting game.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Gibbs-White had not flown out with the rest of the Forest squad for their pre-season tour to Portugal, and the news was seized upon by supporters as a clear sign that the 25-year-old was fully #COYS. However, it was quickly reported that he was absent due to a personal issue, and Gibbs-White has now joined his teammates in Iberia.
While the attacking midfielder is keen on the move, he certainly isn't forcing Forest's hand which will continue to see this saga drag until the legal procedure is complete. His presence in Portugal doesn't mean all that much, but it looks like further patience is required.
